This week Berger Excavating continued grading in various locations along Waukegan Rd.  Also, this week Berger’s asphalt subcontractor, Peter Baker & Sons, removed existing asphalt surface on Waukegan Road, Chestnut Avenue, Pleasant Lane, and Jefferson Avenue by grinding method.  Berger’s electrical subcontractor, Elmund & Nelson, was installing electrical handholes for streetlights in various locations.    Additionally, the landscape subcontractor, Gary Weiss, was installing the retaining wall on Chestnut Avenue.

Next week, Berger Excavating is scheduled to be removing pavement in several locations to patch the existing pavement base course and adjust utility structures located in the pavement after the first layer of asphalt is installed.  Peter Baker & Sons is scheduled to begin installation of asphalt on Waukegan Road, Chestnut Avenue, Pleasant Lane, and Jefferson Avenue early next week and later in the week Peter Baker & Sons will begin installation of the final layer of driveway pavement on all driveways on the project.  Elmund & Nelson will also be on site next week continuing to install concrete foundations and handholes for streetlights.

Please note that during asphalt paving operations next week, there will be periods of extreme delays.  We thank you in advance for your patience during these operations.
