Project scope consists of roadway widening and resurfacing, curb and gutter, sidewalks, storm sewer, water main, intersection signalization, pedestrian signal improvements, street lighting, and parkway restoration. The project improvements include:

· Additional and improved turn lanes at Chestnut/Waukegan and Glenwood Waukegan intersections
· Sidewalk replacement
· Storm sewer extensions
· Modernized traffic and pedestrian signal installation
· Driveway closures and reconfiguration
· Pavement will be widened and resurfaced
· Street lighting replacement

This week Berger Excavating was onsite prepping for various sidewalk, the concrete median located at the centerline of Waukegan Rd. north of Chestnut Ave., and the retaining wall located on the south side of Chestnut Ave.  Berger’s concrete subcontractor was onsite this week installing various concrete sidewalk and the concrete median located at the centerline of Waukegan Rd. north of Chestnut Ave.  The electrical subcontractor was also onsite this week installing street light foundations and the concrete electrical facilities in the roadway. 

Next week the asphalt subcontractor is scheduled to begin removal of the existing pavement on Waukegan Rd., Chestnut Ave. and Jefferson Ave.  After completion of the asphalt removal, the asphalt subcontractor is scheduled to begin installation of the asphalt leveling binder to re-profile the roadway.  The landscape subcontractor will also be onsite next week installing the retaining wall on the south side of Chestnut Ave.  Berger Excavating is scheduled to be onsite next week to grade parkways and prep for asphalt work.  During removal and installation of asphalt, traffic will be relocated as necessary to complete work, please observe all signage and be alert. 
Traffic will be limited to 1 northbound lane and 1 southbound lane during pavement removal and installation procedures, which will likely cause considerable delays in traffic.
