Concrete on West side of Waukegan Road On-Going

This past week, Berger Excavating continued to excavate, grade, and install aggregate base course along the west side of Waukegan Road and the south side of Chestnut Avenue in preparation for concrete curb & gutter, driveways, and sidewalk installation. Berger also removed the existing concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt pavement adjacent to the day care facility and other business within the same building. As of Saturday, September 28th, access to those business will be provided through the Burger King parking lot. Additional signage will be installed.

Berquist Concrete installed concrete curb & gutter, driveways, and sidewalks along the west side of Waukegan Road and the south side of Chestnut Avenue. The contractor performed as much work as possible while allowing access to driveways and businesses throughout the project.

Next week, the contractor will continue to perform concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, and driveway work along the west side of Waukegan Road and south side of Chestnut Avenue. In most instances, the contractor will be completing the opposite halves of the driveways that were previously installed. This will allow businesses to have access to their properties. The work will include excavating the existing material, installing and grading aggregate base course, and pouring concrete curb & gutter, sidewalks, and driveways.

The contractor will continue to work in front of the day care facility with the hopes of getting most of the work completed within the few weeks to minimize inconvenience due to construction.

We continue to express our gratitude for your patience and understanding during the construction operations.
