Last week Berger Excavating completed gravel base course installation along the east side of Waukegan Rd. from Woodlawn Ave. to just south of Ammer Rd.  and along the north side of Jefferson Ave.  Berger Excavating also completed the installation of water main on Waukegan Rd.  Berger’s concrete subcontractor, Berquist & Zimmerman, began installation of curb and gutter along the east side of Waukegan Rd, as well.  Berquist & Zimmerman placed concrete across some driveways, but has left at least one driveway entrance/exit open to each business along the east side of Waukegan Rd.

This week, Berger Excavating is scheduled to begin installation of water main on Chestnut Ave.  Additionally, on Monday Berger is scheduled to replace a sanitary sewer line that crosses Waukegan Rd.  To complete the sanitary sewer work, Berger will be channelizing northbound and southbound traffic into 1 lane northbound and 1 lane southbound on Monday.  Berquist & Zimmerman  is scheduled to continue concrete curb and gutter, barrier curb and sidewalk installation along the east side of Waukegan Rd.  Finally, late this week or early the following week Berger’s asphalt contractor, Peter Baker & Sons, is scheduled to install the asphalt base course along the east side of Waukegan Rd.
